New Work and Holiday visa arrangement signed by Australia and Israel

Australia and Israel signed a reciprocal Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) arrangement on 22 October 2014.

Soon young adults, aged 18–30 years, from Australia and Israel will be able to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to play, work and study in each other’s country for up to 12 months. There will be 500 places on offer for each country per programme year.

Our website has detailed information about the Work and Holiday visa and its eligibility criteria.

Once a start date has been determined for this visa programme, eligible young adults from both countries will be able to apply for this visa. This process can take some time, however, we will announce the start date on our website and social media channels.

Hello sir,

Is PTE ( Pearson Academic English test) taken in October 2014 valid for applying in November 2014 as it is given in the immigration site that they will accept PTE/TOEFL from November 2014??
In other words, I am in a dilemma that whether exams (PTE/TOEFL) written before November are accepted for immigration purposes from November or Immigration take into account only which are written in and after November 2014??

Hi Ravi,

Thanks for the post. If you have already undertaken or intend to undertake the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) you need to be aware that the department cannot accept results from these tests for a visa application until November 2014 (date to be confirmed on the department’s website shortly). However, from implementation in November, an applicant can provide a PTE Academic score from a test taken to meet functional English requirements no more than 24 months before lodging your application for a visa. I would encourage you to keep checking the department’s website for further updates at http://www.immi.gov.au/Pages/Welcome.aspx

I trust this information is of assistance.

This is an exciting opportunity to broaden the horizons of young adults from both Australia and Israel.
It will definitely provide some amazing cultural insights into Israeli culture for young Australians that take this up.
The ability to work is also a bonus to anyone wanting to experience another countries culture.

Thanks for your feedback Mark.
