Save time, go online with the new immi website

Did you know the department has a new website?

The new website is available at the same address at immi.gov.au and contains all the information you need for visiting, studying or migrating to Australia.

The new site includes:

  • a ‘Find a Visa’ tool to search for the visa that best suits you
  • webpages for each Australian visa, with lodgement options, pricing, conditions, entitlements and eligibility on a single page

Videos on how to use the online tools are also available. Here is a video for students.

There is also a video about migrating to Australia.

So you can obtain information at a time and place convenient to you, we have made the site accessible for smart phone and tablet users.

If you have links or bookmarks for the previous site, you will be redirected to the new site. These redirects are temporary and we ask that you update any links or bookmarks as soon as you can.

Thank you for your information.
I'd like to know how can I check the news and if possible special news for a special part of the website, say for skilled immigration.
I'd also like to know if there is a rss for the site so that we could receive news on rss/feed readers.

Thanks for your questions. Our new website features a ‘latest news’ section under each tab of the website. For example, for updates about skilled migration, see the ‘latest news about work visas’ section(www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/Work.aspx) under the ‘work in Australia’ tab of our website.

You can also ‘like’ the department’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/DIBPAustralia to receive visa and citizenship news, as well as following the department on twitter (twitter.com/DIBPAustralia).

While the website doesn’t currently have RSS functionality, we encourage you to use the news sections on website, Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with the latest information.

The underlying link under immi.gov.au mentioned in the post seems to be pointing to a wrong location :)

Thanks Hassan, good to see someone's paying attention! We have corrected the link.

Prevously I would click the link for 'Continue a Saved Online Visa Application' - i would then be prompted for my TRN number and password.
Clicking here now takes me to IMMI account instead - prompting for user and password - it is not recognising my TRN details - where can i log back on to my saved Visa (Skillselect) application?

Thanks

After the scheduled maintenance window I am no longer able to log into my visa application(Continue a Saved Online Visa Application). User name and password are not recognized. I have this issue since 9th Dec 2013. Kindly look into the issue, my application is already lodged but not able to check my online application anymore.

Thank you for your question.

All online applications (except ETAs and citizenship applications) are now being managed through ImmiAccount. If you submitted an application before 6 December 2013, you will need to create an ImmiAccount to continue to access your application.

More information on ImmiAccount and how to create an account (including instructive videos) can be found here: http://www.immi.gov.au/Services/Pages/immiaccount.aspx
